My name is Saraswati Lama. I am 10 years old. I have seven members in my family including me. They are my father, mother, my elder sister and elder brother. My father name is Dev Chandra Bahadur Lama, my mother name is Hira Lama, my brother name is Dipak Lama and my sister name is Binita Lama. My sister also stays with me in the same hostel. Before I came to hostel I used to live with my family. As they worked all day in stone quarry I have to prepare food for them.
I used to cook food for all my family members so mainly I looked after household things like cooking, washing, cleaning, collecting firewood, taking care of goats. I also used to go to school but the school was not as good as my present school. So I was not smart and I was very weak in every subject. But since I came to the hostel everything has changed. I’m learning lot of good things from my school and hostel.
You have completely changed my life and made it better. You all are the most wonderful and beautiful people in the world.
Now I can learn and write English. I can recognize all the letters perfectly. I have become very smart and brilliant compare to before. I have got everything in the hostel. I don’t have to worry about anything now. We have bed to sleep, food to eat, nice and warm clothes to make ourselves warm, bicycles to ride.
All the sisters in hostel are very nice. They love me and treat me very well. We are like a family. Teachers are nice. They help us to do our homework, teach us very well when we don’t understand. Now I’m studying in class one. I love to study. I’m really working hard so I even passed my second terminal exam.
I will work harder and try to get better marks than my previous result. I’m very happy to stay in the hostel. Thank you so much to Ian sir and my sponsor Valerie and Steve for giving me your love and support. You have completely changed my life and made it better. You all are the most wonderful and beautiful people in the world.
