I am Binita Lama. I am 15 years old. My permanent address is MANAHARI which is located in HETAUDA district. But when I was 2 years old my parents migrated to DHADING from MANAHARI. Now, I am staying in the hostel named Little Gems Girls Hostel which is sponsored by Help2educate. I have seven (7) members in my family. My mother and father works in stone quarry. My brothers stay at home and study so they don’t need to work.
My sister (Saraswoti) is also staying with me in the hostel. I think we are very lucky because my sister and I got a golden opportunity to stay and study in the hostel. There are lots of friends in hostel who have same problems like mine. Now, I am studying in grade 8 in Future Stars High School, Jawalakhel. With the complete support from our sponsors and help2educate our miserable life has turned into absolutely beautiful life, it’s so blissful. Thus, we will never forget their gratitude toward us throughout our life.
Help2Educate has changed my life drastically. It has been seven (7) years I’m staying in the hostel. Seven years ago, I used to work in stone quarry with my family. There used to be a hammer in my hand instead of pencil. I am from poor family so my parents couldn’t afford for my education. Sometimes even it used to be very difficult to arrange daily necessities like food, and clothes. Going to school was quite impossible for us.
In order to money we used to crush stones and collect gravels from early morning to late evening so that we could get food and other things we needed. Then the magical time enters to my life. Seeing my effort, capability, potential and willingness to study, the members of help2educate brought me in the hostel. I am very happy to stay here and get good education.

Now it is totally different from my previous life I used to live. Here in hostel I get many facilities like to go to school, to wear fine clothes, get food on time and familiarize with activities that today’s technology has brought such as using computers, e-mailing, chatting and Facebook etc. I am sponsored by Ms. Gaynor miss with her generous help and help2educate I have been able to write and learn. I am extremely thankful to her and help2educate as well.
In the beginning Mr. Ian Wickens had alone established the hostel and started with only five (5) students. As the time passes by hostel got many sponsors and charities and therefore more girls. Now we are altogether 17 girls staying in the hostel.
We all are proud of Mr. Ian Wickens especially who helped us to make our life easier for bright future. Our parents are also equally thankful to Help2Educate and are very happy with our improvements in life. So, we all have to study hard to progress more and make the help2educate successful.
