My name is Nisha Lama. My permanent address is Hetauda, Makwanpur, Padampokhari VDC ward no:-8. My parents had migrated in Gokarna Atarkhel. I am studying at Grade 9 in Future Stars School. I am 15 years old. There are 7 members in my family (my father, mother, two sisters and two brothers and me).
Before I came to the hostel, I used to study in a government school in primary level. My family was living in the carpet factory since they migrated from Hetauda. My all the members used to worked in a carpet factory. My parents were very poor even I got a chance to study in a government school. In government school, the education system was very poor. I used to go to a school in Kathmandu. But I had to work with my parents and brothers when I had got a free time.
Normally I used to work at carpet factory in morning and in evening. Besides this, I had to do household jobs i.e. cook food, wash utensils, wash clothes etc. I had to get up early 5 in the morning to made tea for my family.
I had got injuries in my hands and cough. Afterward I had to help to weave the carpet and then prepare breakfast for all. After breakfast I had to go to school.I had got injuries in my hands and cough. Afterward I had to help to weave the carpet and then prepare breakfast for all.
I was very weak in study because I had to work in the time of study. I couldn’t able to read English properly. Sometimes I felt so tired even though I had to work. So I did not get time to do my home works and study. My days were passing like usual. But it was my luck that I got a chance to live in a hostel and study in a school through Help to Educate.
I was very happy that time Help to Educate gave me an opportunity for study. My parents also very happy about it. I have been living in Little Gems Girls Hostel since 5 and half years and learning many things. I have got many friends and teachers here who always ready to help and teach us. My hostel friends are very nice and kind as well. Since been in the hostel, I have known that the value of good education and it’s important in our lives.
My parents are not well educated so they are engaging weaving carpet 4 in the morning to 11 in the night. If I don’t study properly, my life will be the same of my parents. And this is my good opportunity to study and make my future bright. So, I am studying very hard to get good marks and be a successful. Life before hostel and after hostel is very different. I would like to Thank to Help to Educate, sponsor and well wisher for providing opportunity to study and live in a hostel.
