My name is Sanju Majhi. My birth place is in Saralahi. My father’s name is Man Bahadur Majhi and mother Nanu Majhi. There are seven members [father, mother, three sisters one brother and me]. Our permanent address is in Saralahi, Murtiya ward no:-3. But later on my parents moved to Bungmati, Lalitpur, where my parents, brother and sisters are still living.
We came there for working at Shree Machhendra Brick factory. My family was very poor that’s why they worked in brick factory to provide us food. My parents as well I also worked there to help and earn small money. In the period of working, I got many injuries, cuts. At brick factory we had to dig the field, mould soil and carry soil and sand from one place to another. After carrying mud and sand we had to make mud ready for making bricks. We worked there from early 4 in the morning to late evening. We had no proper time for eat and to had rest because we had to work very hard to manage our daily needs.
It was my dream to go to a school and study. My dream came true. I am studying very hard and I got passed in 1st terminal exams and waiting results of 2nd terminal.
We couldn’t get sufficient food and balance diet due to our poverty. We had to work all the day without caring heat and cold. I wasn’t matured physically and mentally to work in a factory although I had to work without caring that all. I haven’t been to school before I come in the hostel. I used to work in a brick factory. I was eager to go to school when I saw others were going to school. For me, all things weren’t possible because of my parent’s economic condition.
My days were passing like as usual, all of a sudden two men came in the factory when I was carrying mud. They asked my name and age. I was so nervous and afraid because I hadn’t talked any strange person like them before. Later on I noticed that they are from an organization called Help to educate. They visited at factory several times to see us working. They also talked with my parents about my study. They told they were doing research on child laborers in Nepal to help and support them.
After couple of days, they came back again and asked me and my parents about whether I wanted to go with us in a hostel where they helping and supporting for education to children like me. I was very happy hearing this. My parents also asked me about this. I agreed to go to live in hostel and study. Finally I came with my parents in the hostel. There were many children like me in the hostel. All hostel friends are very nice and kind. They are also from same back ground of mine.
My hostel friends are from different parts of Nepal. I started study from hostel. Now I am studying at Future Stars school. It was my dream to go to a school and study. My dream came true. I am studying very hard and I got passed in 1st terminal exams and waiting results of 2nd terminal. I did very well in my exams and will be studying very hard in future. I sometimes go to visit my parents when we have holiday in our school. I want to earn my name and fame by studying hard. I had to struggle my life in various ways. I want to make my sponsors and supporter happy. Thank you for helping me.
