Our approach

As a charity, we have come to the conclusion that our intervention in Nepal should be limited to providing practical and beneficial change to the welfare of children and their communities. However, some intervention and imposition of western values is impossible but we attempt to minimize their impact by emphasising a strong Nepali input through our staff, the families of the children and their communities.

As a result, we are not a religious or political organisation and we do not impose or preach a ethical or political view of the world when interacting in Nepal apart from the positive value of education and childhood. Most of all, we are not an ideological organisation that seeks to lobby the Nepali government or the international community for change.

We believe that we can be more effective as a charity by focusing upon the simple things and doing them well. We are a small charity and we want to continue to think small so that we remember the people that we are helping and who are helping us. It is for that reason that we target the neediest children and help them attend school. These are our values as a charity.
