Georgina miss was from England. She has taught in Tri-Ratna School from class 3 up to 6 in our school. After school she used to help out our homework. After finished homework, we used to out with Georgina miss in different place for play and visit. She was very close with us.

An opportunity for rural children
In Nepal it is difficult to get a well paid job without speaking English. As a result, there is a tremendous pressure for children to learn English and intense competition between schools to demonstrate that they can offer English as a medium of study. The quality and prestige of a school is generally measured by its ability to impart high quality education in English and not Nepali.
We want you to help children who would not ordinarily get a chance to practice and learn their English with you.
As a result, we choose village schools where your English language skills will be most appreciated. It is a fantastic opportunity for local schools to get an English speaking volunteer as a long term target to raise the overall levels of spoken English in the school.

Unlike numerous profit organisations selling volunteer tourism, you will be volunteering for a charity that is registered in both the UK and Nepal; where your skills and efforts will be valued. You can volunteer in the knowledge that you are supporting a worthwhile cause and doing something that has a direct and real impact upon the people you are helping.
As a volunteer in Nepal, we will invite you to accompany our staff on a field visit to a stone quarry or a brick kiln to learn about child labour in Nepal. You will also get to see firsthand, how your donation helps to provide education and care to children in Little Gems. We want you to see that your donation is well spent and going towards work that yields tangible results.
In return for your efforts, you will get to live in a beautiful rural village and experience Nepali culture firsthand. Nepali people are famous for their hospitality and in the heart of a Nepali village you will be made to feel extremely welcome.
An opportunity for us
Volunteers are the lifeblood of our organisation. Your donation has a direct and tangible impact upon our work in Nepal.
For example, in early 2006 we established Little Gems Girls Hostel. It was only made possible as a direct result of the donations we received from volunteers. Your donations were spent on furnishing the hostel with beds, carpet, school books, study tables, computers, a TV, a telephone line and many, many other essential things that allow us to provide a caring and supportive environment for children.
